About the film

Long Haul is a coming-of-age road drama set in the world of American long-haul trucking. Bo, an ultra-conservative teen - based on filmmaker Bryan Fugal’s own life - goes on a cross-country delivery job with his estranged father. During the journey, the son struggles with his parents’ divorce and discovering that his father is gay.

“…a tear-jerker masterpiece… Jacob Buster and Jeffrey Hanson [deliver] award-worthy performances. A beautiful film indeed worthy of high recognition from overall cinematic quality, to actors, and of course its one of a kind story that warms the heart, opens our mind about acceptance and break us free from boundaries that hinder us from loving unconditionally.”
— Utah Film Festival and Awards
Bryan Fugal is a consummate filmmaker, fearless and diligent. From the start, writing this script was an act of courage. The film will be the first of his many triumphs.”
— Victoria Hochberg, Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, Professor of Film, ArtCenter College of Design
Bryan has written a painful, poignant, and beautiful short film.”
— Arthur Van Wagenen - Director, Excel Entertainment
